ABOUT OUR MEMBERS
Asheville Chapter (#137) was chartered January 10, 1966 and is the longest continuously operating SCORE chapter of the over 400 operating in the U.S.A. Asheville SCORE serves over 1400 clients per year through face to face and email counseling and over 30 business related seminars offered in partnership with A-B Tech at the Enka Campus.
David Hymer is the Asheville SCORE Chairman working with 30+ members in the area of business counseling and related seminars. Asheville SCORE supports both small business start-ups and established businesses that are experiencing issues impacting overall performance and financial returns. David has an MBA from the University of Florida and an extensive background in overall program management having spent 34 years with a major aerospace company. He has extensive engineering, sales (domestic and international), product manufacturing and support, finance and contracting experience. He and his wife, Pamela, relocated to Asheville eight years ago.
In addition to his leadership of SCORE, David has served on the Board of Transylvania Vocational Services, tutored in the public schools and worked as a hospice volunteer for three years. He currently serves with 30 other SCORE counselors in our Federal Building office where SCORE maintains an extensive library of business materials and support information for entrepreneurs (start-up or existing). The experience and background of our members provide our clients the opportunity to obtain "Free and Confidential Business Counseling" in a wide area of endeavors. We also provide free and confidential "Team Counseling" at a clients's place of business upon request and interview.
Our members come from a wide range of technical and business professions with expertise and real life experience. They include CEO's / CFO's, corporate officers, business owners, physicians, salesmen, buyers, marketing directors, business brokers, bankers, publishers, insurance brokers, engineers, labor relations managers, controllers, program managers, international trade managers, and more.
