ABOUT OUR MEMBERSAsheville SCORE: SCORE’s Longest Operating ChapterAsheville Chapter (#137) was chartered January 10, 1966 and is the longest continuously operating SCORE chapter of the over 400 operating in the U.S.A. Asheville SCORE serves over 1400 clients per year through face to face and email counseling and business consulting. Asheville SCORE also offers over 30 business seminars offered in partnership with A-B Tech at the Enka Campus. Asheville SCORE LeadershipNick Jordan, Asheville SCORE Chairman Nick Jordan is the Asheville SCORE chairman working with 30+ volunteers in the greater Asheville and Boone areas of North Carolina. SCORE works with existing small business owners and would be entrepreneurs in starting a business. Through business training seminars, as well as individual business consulting and counseling we address those issues impacting overall performance and financial measurements. Nick is a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate and spent part of his working life in New York City in the Cosmetics industry and Executive Search. After moving to Nashville, TN Nick started and ran his own consulting business before he moved to Asheville in 2002. In addition to his SCORE activities Nick has served on the board of his homeowners association as well as the Alumni board of the Asheville School. Nick has been a speaker at local High Schools addressing students on the ins and outs of starting a business, as well as speaking at AB Tech’s YES Camp for young entrepreneurs. He currently serves with other SCORE counselors in our Federal Building offices where we meet with clients, and maintain an extensive library of business reference materials. The experience and backgrounds of our counselors provide our clients the opportunity to obtain ‘Free, Confidential Counseling and Business Consulting Services’ in a wide variety of business disciplines. We also provide Business Assessment Teams (BAT) for existing businesses that are facing multiple challenges from the current economic climate. They include CEO's / CFO's, corporate officers, business owners, physicians, salesmen, buyers, marketing directors, business brokers, bankers, publishers, insurance brokers, engineers, labor relations managers, controllers, program managers, international trade managers, and more.
